Retreats!
Retreats are often seen merely as vacations, but in reality, they offer a valuable opportunity to step away from our daily routines of life and provide the space for reflection, relaxation, connection, and rejuvenation. They allow us to reflect on our beliefs, practices, purposes, and vision, leading to an exploration of aspects of our lives that may need attention or a fresh perspective. Through shared experiences and like-minded thinking, we draw strength from one another. Withdrawing from the stresses and strains of everyday life fosters deeper relaxation and helps us recharge for the journey ahead. Additionally, retreats infuse a bit of fun, enhancing both relaxation and community bonding.
The Xingu Mission held its annual field missionary retreat. We gathered for three days filled with connection and relaxation, with a particular focus on unity, as our church planting efforts are spread across various locations. It is easy to overlook the challenges faced by others when each location has its own demands. Thus, we aim to be proactive and intentional in maintaining unity and connection among our missionaries, even across distances. A special thanks to Joel Seymour for his contributions to the care of our missionaries this year! |
