Retreats!

Retreats are often seen merely as vacations, but in reality, they offer a valuable opportunity to step away from our daily routines of life and provide the space for reflection, relaxation, connection, and rejuvenation.  They allow us to reflect on our beliefs, practices, purposes, and vision, leading to an exploration of aspects of our lives that may need attention or a fresh perspective.  Through shared experiences and like-minded thinking, we draw strength from one another.  Withdrawing from the stresses and strains of everyday life fosters deeper relaxation and helps us recharge for the journey ahead.  Additionally, retreats infuse a bit of fun, enhancing both relaxation and community bonding.

The Xingu Mission held its annual field missionary retreat.  We gathered for three days filled with connection and relaxation, with a particular focus on unity, as our church planting efforts are spread across various locations.  It is easy to overlook the challenges faced by others when each location has its own demands.  Thus, we aim to be proactive and intentional in maintaining unity and connection among our missionaries, even across distances.  A special thanks to Joel Seymour for his contributions to the care of our missionaries this year!

Other notable retreats: The Macapá church and the Belém church.

In Macapá, Vineyard Viva and Vineyard Macapá organized a joint retreat, attracting around 70 attendees.  The focus was on learning to find freedom from ongoing sin.  The event was over a Friday night and Saturday, featuring teachings, interactive games, and a meaningful time for baptisms. These sister churches cherish their time together and collaborated to foster community building and learning.  Stepping away from the day-to-day stresses to focus on freedom was a blessing to these churches.

In Belém, Vineyard Belém conducted its first retreat at a house outside the city, with approximately 40 participants.  The event began on Sunday and concluded on Tuesday afternoon, centered on the theme of legacy.  The participation and dedication of many contributed to the joy of this church plant during its inaugural retreat.  Participants felt rejuvenated in their faith through engagement with the Word of God and enjoyed the fun of community building.

Separating time for a retreat focused on fellowship with God and our spiritual community brings transformative blessings.  We are grateful for what God is doing in us and through us.  We pray you are blessed as well.
