Hello

Thank you so much for your prayers and support.  We are grateful.

We had a pastoral care meeting for our pastors in the North region of Brazil.  We had it in Belem.  Pastors and leaders often pour out into others without taking time to be refilled.  A conference creates space for personal renewal, worship, and prayer, restoring spiritual vitality.  In addition to the distances of some of our churches, it can make ministry isolating.  Conferences offer a chance to connect with others who understand the unique joys and burdens of pastoral work.  Unfortunately, a lot of the pastors could not attend for various reasons.  We pray that they will be able to participate next time.

Elba and Alyssa both had birthdays in July.  Alyssa turned 18 years old.  We are so blessed to have such a beautiful daughter like Alyssa.  She spent her birthday in Altamira.  Elba celebrated her birthday on the river with the dentist outreach team.  I will write about the dental team in the next update.

The girls were on vacation this month from school.  They went back to Altamira to be with family and friends.  The pictures below are from an Autumn Fest-type fundraiser that was held at the Mirante church.  They are both back in Belem, and Alyssa has already started back for the 2nd half of her senior year, and then she will graduate in November.  Camilly will start back to school next week in Biomedicine.  Please keep them in your prayers.

On a sad note, in previous emails, we asked you to pray for Elizangela.  She had cancer, and unfortunately for us here on this earth, she went to be with the Lord.  The church was packed with their family and friends.  She was deeply loved.  Sergio and Elizangela were high school sweethearts, and have three daughters and several grandchildren.  We are saddened for Sergio and his family.  Please remember them in your prayers.

We thank you and appreciate your continued prayers:

Please pray for our church, leadership, and congregation that they may help people draw closer to God and reveal His plans for the church and for us.

Please pray for our family.

Please pray for our spiritual, physical, mental, emotional, and financial health.

Please pray that we can find permanent land and buildings in Belem.

Much love, Steve, Elba, Camilly, and Alyssa
