Building PreparationWe are so thankful for your prayers and support! We recently asked for prayer regarding document issues. Some pending documentation had limited the degree to which we could publicly use our newly rented space. It has been a slow process, but the last step moved forward much faster than expected. Praise God, we now have our business license, and we can fully utilize our rented space. We are now working on signage while we also make renovations to the second floor of our building. When we rented it, it was a large unfinished space with great potential. Our vision was to divide it into classrooms, a kitchen, and an office. Finishing the upstairs will provide us with classrooms for children during services and for community outreach, such as ESL and music classes. What is great is the participation of people within our little group. A young lady studying architecture designed the space. A businessman experienced with drywall has taken charge of working on the ceiling and walls with the help of others. Finally, some folks from our sister church provided labor to install the ceramic tile. This collaborative effort makes the project go a little slower, but the participation strengthens the connections and sense of community. Even so, we hope to have the project substantially done by the end of July and ready for an official grand opening sometime in August! Please continue praying. Blessed to be a blessingWe took to the streets for Mother’s Day. At the riverfront, we took gift bags and set out to bless the mothers that passed our way. As we handed out the gifts, we offered conversation and prayer. One mother in particular was out walking her dog for the first time in a while. She had been sick for some time and had limited contact with people. She shared a bit of her story and repeatedly stated that she could not believe we were here giving gifts. After we prayed for her, she expressed that she was filled with a hope she had not felt for some time.
We have moved! With the church moving to its own space, we’ve been looking for a smaller house to buy. Its always a bit of a process, buying, moving, and painting, but finally we are done! Our new address: Quadra 307 Sul, Rua 6, Qi 04, Lote 14B; Palmas, Tocantins, 77015-456; Brasil
Home AssignmentWe are heading to the States for a month. It’s a short time to meet with all our family, friends, and supporters, but we are excited about connecting and sharing what is going on here in Palmas. We’re also very excited to meet our grandbaby, who will be arriving sometime in May. If you are interested in meeting up personally, please get in touch so we can schedule something as soon as possible. We are also available on Sunday, June 29, to meet with any church or home groups. We will be at the following churches if you would like to meet up with us there:
Hope to see you! PrayerPlease continue praying that God will connect us with key people and give us direction as we seek to guide this group and form a community of Christ followers. Pray for divine encounters for us to demonstrate the love of God. Pray for God’s provision and discernment as we adapt our meeting space to meet the needs of the church. Pray that Keith is able to finish the next part of his master’s degree on time. Pray for the safe and healthy arrival of our grandbaby. Pray for safety and strength as we travel, and for the church in our absence. Blessings in Christ, Keith and Marsha Wilson
