Blessings to you, dear friends and supporters! We truly appreciate all that you do.

The Blaylocks have been in the capital city of João Pessoa, Paraíba, Brazil, for a little over one year.

Derek and Amanda focus their outreach efforts on individuals of peace and their households to spread the Gospel in João Pessoa, following Jesus’s call. They begin with prayer, supplication, and fasting, asking the Holy Spirit for divine encounters with such people. After meeting individuals of peace, they invest deeply in their lives through friendship, service, Scripture reading, discipleship training, and partnership in sharing the Good News to their network of relationships.

This approach has been fruitful. A year ago, they began their ministry by meeting one person at the mall. He was curious upon hearing English. Currently, they have a thriving simple church in their neighborhood and a second group established in another part of the city, and they are exploring the possibility of starting a third group. This new group would be formed through relationships established by individuals of peace who know someone else interested in yet another area of the city!

What began in prayer and fasting has led to a network of individuals growing in Kingdom friendship, engaging in mutual service within the community, participating in communal worship and studying the Scriptures, and transforming into the image and likeness of Christ—prepared to join Him where He is already at work in their workplaces, homes, recreational activities, studies, and caregiving.
