Click here South American Conference  Recently, the church-planting movement here in Brazil held a conference for all of South America.  It was held in São Paulo, Brazil, with attendees from several South American countries, the USA, the UK, South Africa, Canada, and Belgium.  We were thrilled to have some members of our church attend the conference with us. The values and priorities of the Kingdom that we discuss and embody here in Palmas were experienced in a larger group setting, demonstrating that it is more than just the practical theology of two North American missionaries.   Quoting one of the people who went with us, “It was genuine like our church, only more people.”  There seemed to be a profound connection that shifted our small group’s perspective and inspired a desire for deeper involvement and discipleship in our church plant.   We are grateful for this progress and look forward to seeing how God will continue to work through these couples.   Transitions  Upon returning to Palmas from the conference, we encountered the absence of Abilene and her leadership, for she had returned to her home. Additionally, we faced the departure of a family that relocated to Belém for work. However, we are excited that this family has the opportunity to connect with the new Belém church. These changes bring both challenges and opportunities for our community. As we experience these transitions, we hope for new connections and the possibility of growth in change.   On a personal note In church planting, one focus is on making solid personal connections. Picnics, cookouts, short trips, dinners, holidays, and game nights are all activities that help to strengthen these ties. One couple in particular likes to play games. We even played euchre on the plane to the conference, a first for us. We look forward to many more joyful gatherings and heartfelt times as we continue to share experiences and make memories. Some celebrated milestones for us this last month were our granddaughter’s 1st birthday and our 33rd wedding anniversary.     Prayer Please pray for more connections within the community, that our church plant can make an impact for God’s Kingdom. Pray for a leadership team to form. Pray for the necessary provision in our monthly financial support.  Pray for our physical, spiritual, and emotional health.
